Plot Synopsis

Plot Synopsis

My film will start in a florist, where a certain bouquet is being made. There will be a variety of shots in the florist as the flowers are being chosen and put together. There will be a hand written note from the male in my film, stating the dates for the flowers to be delivered. This note will also be spoken by the male and overlaid on top of this section. After this the camera will change to the Ragged Robin Florist van driving and parking outside the house. The lady will then get out and give the flowers to the lady inside. Between these clips I may have others from inside the house and the lady coming to the door. She will then walk the flowers into the house and place them down next to a photograph of her and her husband. When opening the card attached the audience will hear the males voice again reading the card, this will then lead into a memory scene. The first note will be wishing her a happy wedding anniversary and lead onto a memory at pasta gusto. This short sequence will then end and there will be a video montage of letters and newspapers being put through the door of the house to show the passage of time. There will then be another outside shot of a young man walking to the house with another bouquet of flowers. Again the lady will thank him for the flowers and walk inside the house, placing them down on the same table but this time there will be birthday cards and more photographs of the couple. This is to show the change of time again. The note will read "Happy Birthday my darling wife I adore you x" this will again lead onto another memory - this time a walk in Wymondham by the Abbey. The couple will be holding hands and laughing. This sequence will then change to the lady walking by herself to a care home. Clips inside the home will be of the couple today and end with them kissing goodbye.

Sound

Throughout the visual footage I will add sound over the top. There will be no diegetic sound in my piece just sound I have added over the top( non-diegetic) . There will be voice recordings of the male speaking the notes he has written and a voice recordings of the lady speaking a poem. The poem is called its a long goodbye. I will also be adding music to my piece - copyright free.

The Poem

It’s a long goodbye
She’s leaving me, little by little, I wish she wouldn’t go.
I will be there as long as she needs me. How do I let her know?
I’d like to hold on to the memories. I’d also like to share
But she’s further away, getting further away. And yet she’s always there.

It’s a long good-bye, and yet I believe that she can sense us.
So much time between now and then, when its time against us.
There are times she almost seems like herself.
Sometimes it’s just a phase. A part of the person I once knew,
And sometimes just a trace.

It’s a long good-bye and I still don’t know just what to say.
There’s so much time between now and then,
Because she goes away, a long good-bye.
Tell me how do all the others do it? There’s so much time between now and then.
How do we get through it? It’s a long good-bye.

Casting

For my film I want to represent the older generation. For this reason I will be using older cast. I would ideally use my nan and grandad in my piece due to the fact they are in a real relationship and will be convincing onscreen. I want to refrain from using friends in my piece of work as I feel this could make the piece less believable. I will be using real employees from the florist and restaurants I am recording in.
