Plot Synopsis 5 min film

either
1- family talking about the horrific event
2- as is you where there
3- flash backs
If i was to take this story from the current news and turn it into a short 5min film,
i would do this by the film being a monologue from an actor playing Richard Hammond,
and when in certain areas of the house he would have flash backs from the robbery.

 intro- The actor playing Richard Hammond sitting by himself in an empty room of the
villa that was broken into. a chair in the middle of the room
clips from behind him. close ups to his face with his eyes just staring into the
distance.

 *footsteps* - creaking floor boards

 His head quickly moves, close up to his eyes - pupils getting bigger.

 Then his monologue about the attack starts - "it all happened so fast... the sound of
movement, commotion, fear."

 slow movement to standing up

 long pauses after each sentence.

 *touches a lamp on a near chest of draws*
>flash back< to him laying on the Livingroom floor, ears ringing, looking at the
lamp on the draws.
"all i remember is the silence. The fear of what had just happened, where i was?
My wife? My children?"
*heartbeat sound getting loader*

 -standing up, looking at himself on the floor

 *glimpse of someone moving past the window from behind - quick movement to look
-hear someone trying to get into the door
-long pauses, heart beat sound, close up of his fear (eyes/sweat/anxious)

>flash back< his laying on the ground hearing the door noises, the police find him
on the floor.

Research into existing professionally made short films Notes We watched these short films and made some general ideas about the name of the piece and what it may include. We watched many short films ranging from 5-25 minutes. Below are my general notes about the piece. *photos* The Operator (2015)- 6 mins This short film about a Fire Service 999 Call Taker, out of all that we watched was my favourite due to the suspense and emotional connection it included. The short film was extremely successful in showing the conversation between an alarmed lady and respondent. the short film had a quick pace, but due to the way in which it was recorded included many elements of suspense, e.g when the phone call goes silent. We as the audience are in the potion of this operator and feel immersed in what she can hear from the call.
